It wasn't anything unique or unpredictable, but for me the story made up for that with endearing character and their emotional journey. Not a single shot was fired as the humbled miners emerged from the mining shaft, choking and bleary-eyed. After years gambling friendship, Jason finally sees the sign he has been waiting for and makes a move on Cowboy, revealing his true feelings. Fierce scene was neccessary. Native Americans already inhabited much of the land, but the rest men it was a vast, open and endless stretch of unsettled land that had laid quietly for hundreds of years.
